Controlled Chaos

(2022)

I've always loved spring. Sometimes, spring hits just right, and all the trees flower at the same time. And sometimes, the weather is perfect for capturing them. One year I had the idea for a large scale work of a flowering tree that was the sole subject, to the point that the detail was so staggering that the image was almost abstract; and one year, the weather and the trees all cooperated, and I took a bunch of photos on my iPhone. The images were exactly what I was looking for but I could not enlargen the image up to the scale I wanted without losing detail. I've since purchased a large-format digital camera, and a couple years later, could start the series again. This is the first result (2022). These are all meant to be printed as large as possible.

These works are all available for print on my Fine Art America page.
